Keeping It Real

Never a dull moment with our crew! Our daddy gets home from his long trip…yay! We’re trying to get back into somewhat of a normal swing and we find ourselves in the ER.

I had been at my desk for 10 minutes when I got a call that JMA had fallen at work and they were taken him to the ER. Oh goodness! I left immediately and met him there.

He still wasn’t running on all cylinders since his trip. He was still dealing with jetlag, a head cold, stress from trying to catch up from work, etc. He also has inherited from his father the gene which does not do well in bloody situations.  A colleague was telling him a pretty nasty/gory story about an injury he had sustained. JMA told him he had heard enough and that was it. A guy walked up and started giving JMA an estimate for some work he was going to do. JMA said I’m going to be sick, just a minute and walked away. In the next few seconds he proceeded to pass out, fall 6 feet, and smack his face on the concrete. He doesn’t remember anything else except his colleague standing over him yelling his name. The rescue was called, quite a bit of buzz around the shop, and off he went to the ER.

He had scratches on his face, a gash on his nose, beat up mouth, a bruised knee, dirty clothes (from the dirt on the shop floor), and a sore body. Overall, he came out pretty good. I’m very grateful this is all there is to report. Thank you, Lord, for your protection.

In Love

I have unrealistic expectations of a man that is perfectly, imperfect.

A man that is above average...incredibly devoted and true.

I want to love more simply...simply because.

I'm in love with a man.

Nice Reward

It has been a long two weeks. Last week was FILLED with hosting fantastic events....a breakfast brunch for a wonderful friend, our young couples small group, a Shaklee meeting, and a women's Bible study. It was fun, but I needed a week to catch up. Well, Jon got super sick this past weekend and I had a big church volunteer meeting Monday night. Rea and I woke up sick Tuesday and we've had the funk all week! Although I am super behind on my house, church, family, and mom responsibilities, they will have to wait until next week.

The reward.....Today my man and I are taking a break for a marriage retreat at the Hyatt at Coconut Point with a bunch of couples from our church, the Florida vs. Tennessee game Saturday, and then to Lakeland on Sunday for Abigail's 4th birthday lunch! Another fabulously busy weekend!

The light at the end of the tunnel.....my great in-laws came back to Florida this week. So, I'm hoping they'll host a play date with Rea next week while I spend some time catching up.

Off to catch some rays with a foofoo drink in my hand........

Big Changes!

Reagan gets so much attention on here because she changes DAILY! Thought it was time to feature my man. Here is something he has been working on...growth and change for him too! I am so proud of all he does! This a letter he sent out to his employees last week....

Good afternoon, everyone.

I believe most everyone is aware that we will be launching a new brand very soon. In fact, starting on Monday, April 6th, we will begin operating as the Adams Group…not Adams Bros. Cabinetry, Inc. We have built a new website which is already up and running (http://www.discoveradams.com/) and are waiting for new collateral items to be delivered next week. This collateral will be new business cards, letterhead, envelopes, etc. We have also created a Brand Evolution flyer which discusses our history and where we are going as a company.

Some of you may be wondering…why are we doing this? Great question…I’m glad you asked! The current economic conditions are forcing companies to change. We have experienced a lot of success over the past 31 years…but we cannot just rest on our laurels now. We must continue to grow, evolve, and change. Companies that are dynamic and forward thinking stand a much better chance of surviving economic downturns. This is why we have chosen to go down this path. We felt that the name, Adams Bros. Cabinetry had a “mom & pop” feeling and the term “Cabinetry” pigeon-holed us. We aren’t a “mom & pop” shop and we do so much more than just “cabinetry.” We are trying to get our foot in the door with some very large companies and we felt it was best to rebrand ourselves at this time to better position ourselves for future growth with some of these larger companies.

Obviously, this is a huge change and one that won’t happen overnight. Although we are going to do our best to minimize “Adams Bros. Cabinetry,” there will be a transition period. We aren’t going to go get new lettering for our trucks right away or order new shirts. We will, however, do our best to present ourselves to our customers & vendors as the Adams Group beginning on April 6th. You will have a new e-mail signature on April 6th, as well as new letterhead for documents/transmittals.

Some of you may be wondering how we are going to communicate this change to our customers & vendors. We have ordered 1000 copies of our brand evolution flyer. We will be handing this flyer out, both via USPS and in person at local events. We will also be sending out mass faxes & e-mails. Our new e-mail signature will also include a link to this brand evolution flyer. We want to get the word out to everyone about the change. We also want them to know that we aren’t changing our name because of any financial issues or strains…we are simply rebranding to better position ourselves for future growth.

This is an exciting change! As I mentioned before, we have experienced a lot of positive things as Adams Bros. Cabinetry. We will probably always be known as ABC to some people…and that’s ok. It is our hope and desire though to close that chapter of the company’s history and begin a new chapter as Adams Group very soon. Please jump on board!
