Potential Meltdown...Avoided

As we were walking through the aisles of Publix last week, RCA picked up a pack of Silly Bands and a pack of chalk. She didn't say anything about it...just picked them up and kept walking. Then a few aisles later she saw a lunch box (A.K.A. a purse) and put the items in it. Totally on her own again and with few words, she found several books that looked interesting.

We went on and she just carried it all up and down the aisles.

When I stopped, she stopped to read.

Although it was super cute and big, I was dreading what was next...the check out aisle! I was able to remove the books without a scene, but I was experiencing some resistance with the purse full of goodies. I just wanted to give the items to the lady and run out of the store...fast!!!

However, it wasn't necessary! Basically I told her the tag on the bag meant it belonged to the store and we have to give it to them. I put it on the "belt" thing and the cashier was fast and so SMOOTH. She must have been a mom!!!! Once out of site, I distracted RCA and it was no big deal!!! *sigh* Disaster avoided!

Too Important to Miss

  1. Jon Mike felt our little baby move tonight. (I think I've been feeling it for a few weeks, but never for sure...always convinced myself otherwise.)
  2. I made some headway today with my current OB/GYN office towards switching. I have chosen to give such a "little" thing in the grand scheme of things to God. He knows the desires of my heart. It seems as if the doors are opening.
  3. I'm working on a little surprise for a friend. I'll keep you posted.
  4. There is a chance that in 8 days I will know the gender of this baby. I have such mixed feelings this time around....about finding out and the gender.
  5. I FINALLY found an inspiration piece for my future bedroom face lift. It's bedding from a PB teens magazine. (Not sure if it's a good thing or not that It came from a "teen" magazine)

There were a few more "important" things, but I guess that will be the top 5 before bed. Another work day tomorrow.

MY Baby Book

Well, I threw away my baby book tonight...intentionally. Don't worry I took some pictures...for a good laugh.
Here's the cover...

Here are my parent's thoughts about hearing the news of my existence...

My detailed family tree...

Memories from my first days at home... (sideways)

Very important immunization records... Guess I'm contagious...

Alternatively titled: "what a baby book of the youngest of four looks like"
Yes, my friends, this is what you get. My favorite part...my mom has kept this completely blank book in my box of memories for 27 years! Thanks, mom! She has MANY other strengths.

Goooo Gators!

This weekend we went up to Gainesville without Rea for Jon Mike's birthday. We stopped at Ikea to look at a few specific things then off to the sis and b.i.l's. We quickly loaded up and went out for Mexican before heading to campus. We toured Kels' law bldgs and walked to Al's brand new classroom bldg. It was fun to see where they spend so much their time now. (We ran into a guy on campus who works at AG...what are the odds?!?) We watched the players on the Gator Walk...it's crazy that these KIDS are just about celebrities. Then in the stadium we went. We watched them warm up...

Then the band...

Then the game...

Definitely a disappointing end to the game, but a great weekend overall!

Considering it all joy...

...when...

...you are finishing day 3 of no AC because there has been a beautiful breeze all day!

...you are working on your HOT and BORING ironing pile (again...it's been 3 weeks) because you have TWO things left and its great that you have nice clothes that need to be ironed.

...you haven't heard from your husband today because its so great he has a great job that desperately needs him.

...you don't have your lessons done for the next day because you know God will give you the right ideas...exactly what he wants you to teach...it's not about you.

...you have to make dinner because you have good food to cook and a family to cook for!

...you didn't complete EVERYTHING on your to do list because you started the day with 2 days of Bible study homework which were the most important!

...you have barking dogs, loud motorcycles, honking horns in your neighborhood because....mmm, I'm drawing a blank on this one.... :)

Choosing to consider it all joy!

Off to iron the last two items......yahoo!
