Can I preserve a stalk of celery?

For a few weeks now, Reagan has been entertained by chewing on/playing with a stalk of celery. (She's bored with it now because she can't really eat it.) One day when I went to throw a piece away I noticed she had made teeth marks on it....from her two little teeth on the bottom. It looked like a beaver had gotten to it. It was so precious! I wanted to keep the stalk...but I didn't.
